Beyond Repair is a system-driven survival experience set aboard a critically damaged spaceship drifting through deep space. Players must navigate failing ship systems, manage scarce resources, and make high-stakes decisions under constant pressure. With a focus on tension, prioritization, and limited agency, Beyond Repair challenges players to survive not by defeating enemies, but by outsmarting entropy itself.
The gameplay emphasizes moment-to-moment decision-making through physical navigation of the ship, system management, and responding to emergencies triggered by a dynamic event system. Every choice carries weight as players race against a ticking vulnerability mechanic, knowing they can't save everything — only what matters most.

WHAT IS BEYOND REPAIR ?

  • Designed and implemented core survival mechanics centered around systems management (oxygen, power, repairs).

  • Developed top-down player movement with realistic acceleration and deceleration curves for immersive navigation.

  • Created modular interaction systems using interfaces (e.g., IInteractable) to handle ship system interactions efficiently.

  • Built an event management system to trigger randomized in-game challenges, escalating difficulty dynamically over time.

  • Integrated visual feedback systems like flickering lights and UI alerts to intuitively guide players under pressure.

  • Balanced resource management through limited repair kits, forcing players to prioritize critical system repairs.

  • Focused on player-centric design, making sure every system contributed to tension, urgency, and meaningful decision-making.

  • Adapted and reprioritized features (e.g., adjusting tutorial design) based on development challenges and time constraints.
